Elaborated part of the COMPRESSOR with larger impeller, enlarged and polished crankcase.

Designed in those cases in which the control unit has already been remapped but the original turbo becomes unreliable, installing a larger impeller reduces the operating rpm and therefore the risk of overspeed, one of the main causes of turbocharger failure when processing is carried out only at the control unit level without adapting the turbo

• What is Avional?

A2000, (trade name Avional), is a high-strength aluminium, i.e. aerospace material with a light specific weight, there is absolute certainty of the mechanical properties of this material. The main alloying element is copper, in some alloys there are additions of magnesium and manganese. These alloys undergo mechanical processes that eliminate those oxidation defects (mostly silicone) and guarantee the granular structure of the alloy, improving the properties of the material under stress. In fact, after the heat treatment they develop mechanical characteristics comparable to those of carbon steels and the improvements are also to be seen in terms of duration. In other words they are to be considered more resistant than traditional impellers.

 Technical specifications

 MFS impellers are made on high-speed 5-axis CNC machining centres, speeds necessary to achieve the high profile given by aerodynamic blades which guarantee high level mechanical performance. This also means that the geometry of the wheel is not subject to mold tolerances and the variability of the casting processes over time. In essence we are talking about zero compromises during the complex processing of the blades. In this process, the best and most modern metrology and measurement technologies are applied to inspect the geometric thickness and required tolerances according to the engineering specifications of a modern turbocharger.
